retreat
in Italy
In March 2026, Home of HAIKU invites a curated group of artists, writers, photographers, and makers to gather in the Italian countryside for five days of immersive practice. This retreat is designed to give you the space, inspiration, and community to dive deeply into your craft — while being nourished by nature, food, and mindful practices.
This retreat is for anyone who feels called to step away from daily distractions and devote themselves to their craft. Whether you are an emerging artist or a seasoned professional, the only requirement is curiosity and openness.
What to expect
This retreat will bring together 15–20 artists from across disciplines — photographers, writers, painters, filmmakers, and more. Each participant will be invited based not on status or credentials, but on curiosity and a willingness to share space. The group will be carefully curated to create a balance of practices and personalities, making the experience both intimate and inspiring.
Every day will offer dedicated hours of open studio time — the chance to write, paint, sketch, photograph, film, or explore whatever project is calling to you. This is time for focus and flow, supported by the presence of others who are also immersed in their work.
Daily meals will be prepared on-site with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Expect simple, wholesome Italian-inspired dishes designed to fuel both body and creativity. Three meals a day will be shared at the communal table, where conversation and connection can flow naturally.
To support balance and presence, daily optional sessions of yoga, breathwork, and meditation will be offered. These practices are not mandatory but are an invitation to ground yourself, connect with your body, and open new pathways for creativity. these will be guided by yoga teacher Helena Quist. The retreat will take place in a villa in Italy — surrounded by nature and stillness, yet with easy access to local towns for fresh produce and inspiration. The villa offers shared and private spaces, a large kitchen, and open common areas where art and conversation can unfold
OBS!
(important notes)
The retreat takes place in March 2026 (exact dates are still to be announced)
The retreat will most likely cost around 4,000DKK (≈ €540). This price includes accommodation, daily meals, and the optional yoga, breathwork, and meditation sessions. Flights and transport to the villa are not included.
Since this is the very first Home of HAIKU retreat, we don’t yet have polished photos or video material from past editions. What we do have is a strong vision and experience in curating spaces for creativity, presence, and connection.
We aim for a group of 15–18 participants. The exact cost may vary slightly depending on the final number of people: if 18 join, the expenses per person will be lower; if closer to 15, the cost will be slightly higher.
It is important to note that this is not a yoga retreat in the traditional sense. While yoga, breathwork, and meditation will be offered daily, these are entirely optional. The heart of the retreat is free time to create, supported by nourishing food, beautiful surroundings, and a thoughtful community. The goal is to create a setting where you can dive deeply into your craft.
The retreat will take place in March 2026. The exact dates and villa location are still to be confirmed, as we first want to see how many are interested before finalizing the space.
In December 2025, those who have shown interest will receive a formal invitation to join. If you receive an invitation, you will have two weeks to confirm your participation with a deposit. If we do not receive confirmation within that timeframe, the spot will be offered to someone else. Showing interest now does not obligate you to join later; it simply helps us shape the group and bring this idea to life.
